Transfer Portal Tracker | Where the latest bunch of former Rebels will continue football career (2024)

Ole Miss ended the 2023 season with 17 outgoing players through the transfer portal. It’s a mixed bunch that features players that were starters, significant rotational pieces, players that showed some potential exciting signs and some that never saw much of the field if at all.

In our previous update earlier this month, nine of the (then) 16 players on their way out had found a home. Then hours later, former Ole Miss superstar running back Quinshon Judkins committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, making that acquisition number 10 of former Rebels. Since, one more Rebel had entered his name into the transfer portal and a total of five former Ole Miss players have found a new home.

Two Rebels in wide receiver Bralon Brown and offensive lineman Cedrick Nicely will be teaming up in West Virginia to go play for the Marshall Thundering Herd. Nicely was a member of Ole Miss’ 2021 signing class, but never really saw any type of significant playing time for the Rebels on game day during his tenure. Like Nicely, Brown was also a member of the 2021 signing class, but he did have his moments. His most recent moment that had us reporters chatting was during fall camp. He appeared to be one of Ole Miss’ most improved players and had a body frame that looked SEC-ready. However, Brown never really got into a game rhythm with the offense and would see the field in a limited fashion even when injuries at the position arose.

The next three that found new homes since our last update were all starters for Ole Miss at some point or another.

Tight end Michael Trigg recently announced his plans to play for Baylor in the Big 12. Trigg’s ups and downs were well-documented through his (about) two-year Rebel career, but he was (and still can be) a promising starter for the Rebels. In 2022, Trigg started in all six of the games he played in and showed flashes of utter dominance. He came back in 2023 with more competition in the room with Lane Kiffin’s acquisition of Caden Prieskorn and Ole Miss could’ve had one of the scariest tight end tandems in the country, but it started to fall apart over the summer and ultimately crumbled following Week 3. Trigg had been removed off of the team, so he found his fit after searching for a couple of months.

Veteran safety Isheem Young, who has just one year of eligibility remaining, will be going to North Texas for the 2024 season. Young, like Trigg, was having internal issues with the team and was shortly removed from the roster after serving an in-house suspension during the team’s preparation period for Vanderbilt. He played in seven of Ole Miss’ games in 2023 (zero starts), but started in nine games for the Rebels in 2022.

The one player who entered the portal since our last update was hybrid defender Ladarius Tennison. We previously reported on the safety/linebacker’s decision to step into the portal, but he had not chosen where that destination would be until about a week later. The former Rebel will be taking his talents to Central Florida to play for the Knights. He was a sizable rotational piece for the Rebels during his tenure and started in the team’s final three games of their Peach Bowl winning season. Tennison also started in eight games during his first season with Ole Miss in 2022.
